There is the potential for some bad weather in Chicago Thursday afternoon. We break down the latest news.

UPDATE: Multiple national media are now reporting the same news, so it looks like this game is delayed until Friday.

The Chicago Cubs are hosting the Miami Marlins in the National League Wild Card round, and the series might be delayed. Game 2 is being postponed due to approaching weather, according to Chicago radio station 670 The Score. They are reporting the game will be moved to Friday and if Game 3 is necessary it would be moved to Saturday.

The current weather has been fine in Chicago, but the National Weather Service is reporting potential hazardous thunderstorm weather coming through. They are seeing a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and a 30 percent chance of showers during the evening.

This seems a little odd, especially with first pitch only an hour away, but after the weather questions in starting Yankees-Indians on Wednesday might have the league being a little more cautious about the weather. This is not official news, so we’ll see if the Cubs or Major League Baseball offer up more specific information this afternoon.
