Noah Fant led the Denver Broncos with 10 targets in Week 3. That and a Week 4 matchup with the New York Jets should be considered good news. His prospects for Thursday night would be even higher if Jeff Driskel remains Denver’s quarterback. However, Driskel was benched late in the team’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, and there is a chance that his hold on the starting gig has already been lost to Brett Rypien.
Fantasy Football analysis: Broncos TE Noah Fant
Through three weeks, Fant has lived up to the expectations of those who picked him as a 2020 breakout player. Despite playing with two different quarterbacks through the first two weeks, Fant reached the end zone and recorded at least 15 PPR fantasy points in each game. Even though Driskel was dismal against the Bucs, all Fant’s owners should care about is that he had a 33% target share while Driskel was under center and turned those 10 targets into five catches and 46 yards. That’s not the best line in the world, but hey, you can’t score every week.
Rypien didn’t target Fant during his one fourth-quarter drive in the 28-10 defeat. But if he gets the call, he would be wise to get Fant involved against a Jets defense that has allowed an opposing tight end to score in each of the past two weeks (Jordan Reed and Mo Alie-Cox).
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Despite the QB quandary, Fant is a fine mid-range TE1 in a green-light matchup. He’s listed at $5,700 on DraftKings.
