UPDATE: Jan. 9, 6:50 p.m. — Whiteside is available to play vs. the T-Wolves.

So you can stand down from playing Anthony Tolliver i any capacity tonight. I’d worry a little about Whiteside’s minutes, but if he’s available he should start. If he isn’t or if he’s going to be restricted, I can’t say rolling him out in DFS is safe.

Portland Trail Blazers C Hassan Whiteside is questionable to play Thursday vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves.

CJ McCollum was the other Blazer recently dealing with an illness and now it’s spread to Whiteside. This is pretty bad news for the Blazers, who really lack size in the frontcourt behind Whiteside. If he’s out, Anthony Tolliver is the only real option to start at center. He’d be an OK value play at $3,100, but lacks upside. Carmelo Anthony will likely play a lot of power forward and would be in line for more rebounding chances. If the T-Wolves get Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) back, Minnesota could have a significant edge in the paint.
