Report: Adam Thielen got stitches after getting cleated in Wednesday practice

Vikings WR Adam Thielen suffered an ankle injury on Wednesday, but it sounds like he should be good to go for Saturday’s Divisional round game with the 49ers.

The Minnesota Vikings got a bit of a scare at practice on Wednesday when Adam Thielen suffered an ankle injury. A day later, it sounds like there will be precautions, but he should be good to go. Thielen was listed as limited on Wednesday after not appearing on the Tuesday injury report. It turns out, Thielen suffered a bad cut on his ankle that requires stitches, according to Tom Pelissero and Ben Goessling. Both reported the outlook is positive for his availability on Saturday.

The Vikings have one last practice on Thursday before issuing their final injury report. There’s a decent chance Thielen will either be listed as limited or a DNP. He could end up questionable on the final injury report, but it seems like a decent bet he will be playing on Saturday against the 49ers.

This all comes as Stefon Diggs has been dealing with an illness that cost him the first two days of practice. He likely also could end up listed as questionable, meaning we’ll be waiting for game day decisions on two of the Vikings top playmakers. Both still seem on track to play, but we’ll have updates later in the day on Thursday and then Saturday as well.
