UPDATE: Jan. 12, 1:08 p.m. — Randle will be available to play in Sunday’s game vs. the Miami Heat.
Julius Randle will be available for today’s game against Miami, the team says.— Ian Begley (@IanBegley) January 12, 2020
With Randle back and Marcus Morris still dealing with a neck injury, if Morris sits again, Randle is in a decent spot considering he isn’t hurt. It’s a tough matchup vs. the Heat, but Randle should get his usual allotment of minutes and will have high usage.
Julius Randle (personal reasons) is not with the team and is out for tonight’s game at Utah.— NY_KnicksPR (@NY_KnicksPR) January 8, 2020
The Knicks are playing the second end of a back-to-back Wednesday after being demolished by the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. Randle may just be sitting out to take a breather from last night. Marcus Morris (neck) sat against the Lakers and his status is unclear heading into Utah. If both forwards are sidelined, the Knicks will have a very thin frontcourt.
Fantasy basketball Analysis: New York Knicks frontcourt
If both Randle and Morris are out, Taj Gibson and Mitchell Robinson will start in the frontcourt agains the Jazz. We’d also see more Bobby Portis off the bench, so our focus would be on those three players. Robinson is $5,000 on DraftKings and would be a top value and chalk play despite a tough matchup. With all that scoring to make up for, R.J. Barrett ($5,700) and Elfrid Payton ($5,700) are also intriguing GPP plays.
