Two overvalued tight ends for Divisional Round DFS

We break down what tight ends might be overvalued in this weekend’s four-game slate for the NFL’s Divisional Round.

We’re done with Wild Card weekend and the Divisional Round is approaching. The next installment of playoff football brings a new four-game DFS slate. Some tight ends in the Divisional Round are worth their price tags, but others might not be. We broke down what tight ends in this weekend’s slate could be overvalued.

Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens ($5,600)

Andrews is the streakiest of the top-notch tight ends in this weekend’s lineup. While he isn’t as consistent as Travis Kelce ($6,400) or George Kittle ($6,200), he is capable of putting up big numbers. The 23-year-old made the Pro Bowl in his second NFL season and led the Ravens in receiving yards this year (852). But he has tallied fewer than 7 DKFP in five games this year, so there’s a bigger chance his showing is a dud.

Another thing to consider is Andrews’ health. He suffered an ankle injury ahead of Week 17 and returned to practice for the first time since then last week. There’s been no indication that he’ll be limited or held out for the Divisional round, but he could be hindered if the injury lingers.

Jonnu Smith, Tennessee Titans ($3,400)

Smith is a relatively inexpensive option, but don’t let that suck you in. Smith is an incredible athlete and the hope was he would break out once he got an opportunity. He had a big game in Week 8 (19.8 DKFP) and then had double digit performances in each of Weeks 14-16. However, the past two weeks he’s been shut down. He had no targets in Week 17 and then two targets in the Wild Card round, resulting in one catch for nine yards.

The Ravens are the best defense against tight ends. You might be looking for a sneaky upside performance, but it’s not worth the roll of the dice on Smith.
