This year, the Kansas City Chiefs will play host to the Houston Texans in the AFC Divisional round. The game is scheduled for Sunday, January 12th, with kickoff set for 3:05 p.m. ET. The game will air on CBS. The winner will advance to the AFC Championship Game to face the winner of the Ravens-Titans Divisional round matchup.
The Chiefs earned a first round bye on the final Sunday of the regular season thanks to the Patriots losing to the Dolphins. The Chiefs finished the season 12-4 and champions of the AFC West. They come into the game in relatively good health.
The Texans won the AFC South with a 10-6 record. They hosted the Bills in the Wild Card round and came back from a 16-0 deficit to win 22-19 in overtime. DeShaun Watson put the team on his shoulders and will need to do so again in facing an explosive Chiefs offense and improving Chiefs defense. Houston expects to get Will Fuller back, and awaits word on cornerback Johnathan Joseph.
The teams faced off in Week 6, with the Chiefs playing host. The Texans came back from a 17-3 deficit to win 31-24. Carlos Hyde had a big game, but Watson keyed the victory.
