2020 NFL playoff schedule, results for Wild Card weekend

Seahawks vs. Eagles final score update

The Wild Card weekend wrapped up with one more fun ending. The Seahawks held off a late Eagles drive to win 17-9. Seattle advances to the Divisional round where they’ll travel to face the Green Bay Packers.

Carson Wentz suffered a head injury in the first half of the game and was eventually ruled out with a concussion. Josh McCown replaced him and became the oldest player to make his playoff debut. McCown completed 18 of 24 passes for 174 yards but the Eagles were never able to get into the end zone.

DK Metcalf was the big playmaker for the Seahawks. He finished the day with 160 yards and a touchdown. Russell Wilson threw for 325 yards and rushed for 45 yards. Travis Homer and Marshawn Lynch combined for 19 yards on 15 carries, although Lynch did punch in a touchdown on one of his runs.

Vikings vs. Saints final score update

The Vikings and Saints played a wild one to open the Sunday Wild Card schedule. For the second straight day, the six seed knocked off the three seed, with the Vikings winning 26-20 in overtime. They advance to face the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional round.

This was a wild back-and-forth and gave us the first Wild Card weekend with two overtime games. Kirk Cousins connected with Adam Thielen for a 43-yard pass, which set up 1st and goal at the 2-yard line. After two failed Dalvin Cook runs, Cousins found Kyle Rudolph on an end zone fade to win it.

Cook was critical in this game, rushing for 94 yards and two touchdowns. The defense stepped up big to contain Drew Brees and company. Throughout the game, Cousins was quiet and the questions remained if he could step up when it mattered most. Well, he did.

Titans vs. Patriots final score update

The Titans stunned the Patriots in Foxborough Saturday evening, beating them 20-13 to advance to the Divisional round and a date with the Baltimore Ravens. Derrick Henry dominated this game, rushing 34 times for 182 yards and a touchdown, and adding a 22-yard reception on a second quarter scoring drive.

Ryan Tannehill had his worst game since taking over for Marcus Mariota. He threw for only 72 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. It wasn’t great, but it was enough to get it done thanks to Henry’s huge performance.

The Titans defense didn’t dominate the Patriots, but they made enough big plays. Tom Brady threw for 209 yards, but couldn’t quite make one or two big plays that might have been the difference. James White led the Patriots with five receptions for 62 yards, capping off a season in which the Patriots’ lack of consistent wide receiver play cost them in the end. Logan Ryan capped the game with a pick six to put the final nail in the coffin.

Texans vs. Bills final score update

The NFL Playoffs got off to a wild start on Saturday with some free football. The Texans stormed back from a 16-0 deficit to defeat the Bills 22-19 in overtime. The final 90 seconds or regulation followed by overtime were absolutely insane. We saw numerous bad decisions by Josh Allen, and even still the Bills had a chance to win in overtime. Instead, DeShaun Watson connected with Duke Johnson on a 3rd and 18 and a couple big plays later, Houston kicked a field goal to end it.

Buffalo dominated much of the first half, but their inability to punch it in on three first half drives ended up costing them. Josh Allen got off to a strong start with a big rush and a receiving touchdown on the opening drive. The Bills defense gave DeShaun Watson a ton of problems in the first half, securing four sacks.

Things went south in a big way for the Bills in the second half. DeShaun Watson put the Texans on his back and made magic happen. He connected with DeAndre Hopkins on three passes for 66 yards, he rushed for a 20-yard score, he found Carlos Hyde for a five-yard touchdown, and converted a pair of two-point conversions.

The Bills tied it with a field goal in the final seconds of regulation. We saw the two teams exchange punts in the extra frame before Watson got the Texans into position to put it away.

The Texans advance to face the Chiefs following the Titans upset of the Patriots.

The 2020 NFL playoffs officially get underway Saturday morning! It was a wild regular season, but we are down to the final 12 teams competing for a shot at taking home the Lombardi Trophy at Super Bowl 54.

Normally we get a split of AFC and NFC teams on both days of Wild Card weekend. This year, the AFC games take place on Saturday and the NFC games take place on Sunday. The Bills and Texans open Saturday, followed by the Titans and Patriots. The Vikings and Saints open Sunday, followed by the Seahawks and Eagles.

The Wild Card round gets going with the Houston Texans hosting the Buffalo Bills. Kickoff is set for 4:35 p.m. ET on ESPN, with the game simulcast on ABC. We get Joe Tessitore, Booger McFarland, and Lisa Salters calling the game. The Texans are a 2.5-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, although the line has moved up and down a half point here or there to reach this spot. Buffalo’s defense could turn them into a tough out in the playoffs, and I think they get the outright win in a low-scoring defensive affair.

The second game on Saturday features the New England Patriots hosting the Tennessee Titans. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on CBS. We get Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, and Tracy Wolfson calling the game. The Patriots are a five-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the point total set at 44.5. This is a tough call considering the Patriots stumble last week against Miami. Bill Belichick’s defenses have had success against Ryan Tannehill in the past, but this seems like a new Tannehill. The return of Adoree’ Jackson is big for Tennessee’s defense. I think New England wins, but Tennessee finishes inside the number.

The Sunday schedule gets underway with the New Orleans Saints hosting the Minnesota Vikings. Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m. ET on FOX. We get Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Erin Andrews, and Chris Myers calling the game. The Saints are an eight-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the point total set at 49.5. Considering the Vikings extensive injury report, I’m inclined to lay the points and take the over on this one.

The final Wild Card game features the Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Seattle Seahawks Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on NBC. We get Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth, and Michele Tafoya calling the game. The Seahawks are a 1.5-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the point total set at 45. The public is betting Seattle heavily, and Philly’s injury woes has me on that side as well.
