UPDATE: The line dropped to 4.5 shortly after the close of the second quarter.
The Buffalo Bills made an early statement against the Houston Texans, and head into halftime of their Wild Card game with a 13-0 lead. DraftKings Sportsbook has installed the second half point spread at Texans -5.5, and the point total at 20.5. The under is -122 and the over is -109.
The Bills impressed early on with a perfectly designed opening drive. Allen completed one pass on the drive, finding Devin Singletary for seven yards on the first play of the drive. Allen added a 42-yard run and a four-yard run, and then the Bills dialed up some trickeration. Allen handed the ball to John Brown on what looked like an end-around, then flared out into the open field where Brown found him for a 16-yard touchdown reception. For a brief time, Brown led the team in passing and Allen led in rushing and receiving.
The Bills added a field goal in the second quarter to take a 10-0 lead and closed out the first half with one more field goal to take a 13-0 lead into the third quarter.
The offense has made some big plays, but the defense has also impressed through two quarters. Trent Murphy and Jerry Hughes each have two sacks of DeShaun Watson, and the Texans have struggled to get things going. They are averaging 5.3 yards per carry on the ground, but 19 yards came on a single Duke Johnson run. Carlos Hyde has rushed four times for 10 yards.
