What to do with Tom Brady vs. Titans in playoff fantasy football

Will Tom Brady rebound from a tough end to the regular season and perform well in the first week of playoffs?

Tom Brady and the rest of New England hoped to be enjoying a first round bye this weekend — allowing for an extra week of rest and preparation — but that was all spoiled by the Miami Dolphins in Week 17. Brady struggled in that match-up with the 26th ranked Miami pass defense, and only managed to complete 16 of 29 pass attempts for 221 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He ended the game with 14.8 fantasy points. They will face a similarly ranked pass defense this Saturday as they take on the Tennessee Titans and their 24th ranked squad. Can Brady help the Patriots bounce back from that embarrassing loss and advance to the second week of the playoffs? We break down the fantasy implications below.

Fantasy Football Advice, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady

It’s no secret that the Patriots offense is struggling, which is not good for Brady’s fantasy outlook. He has failed to establish a real connection with any of his receivers aside from Julian Edelman, and other teams have taken notice. If Edelman is taken out of the game, Brady seems to struggle to deliver to his other options. Adoree Jackson has been battling injury throughout the season, but he is said to be back to full health which is a boost for the Titans’ secondary. If you are still playing in season long fantasy leagues, every QB is technically a QB1 this week, however Brady is on the bottom half of that list.

Brady’s DraftKings DFS salary is $5,800 this week, making him the cheapest starting QB in any of the four games in the Wild Card round. He is far from a sure bet this weekend, but everyone has seen what Tom Brady can do in moments of pressure with the season on the line. If you’re looking for a bargain with some upside, Brady may be your guy. Odds are, however, you’d be happier if you splurged and spent the extra $1,000 to get Russell Wilson for $6,800 vs. a banged up Eagles squad or $6,500 for Josh Allen against a very susceptible Houston secondary.
