College basketball bad beats strike on a layup and buzzer beater

A couple of big swings in the last seconds last night are what makes college basketball fun.

They call it gambling for a reason. All you can do is research and find the best information to make the wisest decisions with your dollars... and then... either greatness or tragedy strikes.

Let’s look at two big swings last night.

The completely informed geniuses here at DK Nation selected Illinois last night, because there’s no way we could ever be wrong. But if you just happened to have Minnesota +6...

Oof, brutal. What statistical model is there for “Division 1 college athlete missing free points.”

And how about it for a big shot in the Big South last night: Everette Hammond of USC Upstate goes a flawless 94 feet in four seconds to pull the mild upset (2.5 point underdogs) at Presbyterian last night. There goes the overtime bailout for Blue Hose backers!

But the beauty of college basketball is there’s always another game. We’ll see you sweating the board tonight, hopefully with a bit better luck than Minnesota and Presbyterian backers had yesterday.
