There are plenty of weird Super Bowl prop bets out there, ranging from how long Demi Lovato will hold out the word “brave” to whether or not a fan runs onto the field. Those are fun but there are plenty of non-player props that are worth sinking our hard-earned cash into this Sunday. I’ll go through a few of my favorites.
Total number of players to attempt a pass OVER 2.5, +124
This game could get crazy if it lives up to the 54.5 point total and just one non-Mahomes/Garoppolo player throwing the ball gets you the win here.
Total yards of shortest touchdown, UNDER 1.5, -167
The 49ers may need to throw the ball to win in this game, but they will run it plenty, especially around the goal line. A goal-line plunge has happened in five of the last seven Super Bowls and these two teams have combined for 27 1-yard touchdowns this season. Go with the under.
Longest touchdown UNDER 47.5 yards, -112
Going with the over here would seem to make sense in a game with such a high over/under between two of the best offenses in the league, but hitting a touchdown over 47 yards is a tough ask for any team. On the season, the Chiefs and 49ers allowed seven total touchdowns over 47.5 yards.
Opening kickoff to result in a touchback, No +120
If you were returning the first kick of the Super Bowl, would you kneel down? Probably not. The odds are that any kickoff will be a touchback, but things change when you get into the Super Bowl. Go with the returner being amped up and ready to roll.
Total yards of longest successful field goal UNDER 47.5, -118
Both Andy Reid and Kyle Shanahan will likely look to go for it on 4th down if they are 47.5 yards away from three points. These are two of the best offenses in the league and settling for a long field goal in a possible high-scoring game isn’t their style.
