We’ve got a six-game NBA slate set for Friday night on DraftKings. There aren’t many appealing matchups outside of Sixers-Rockets, but that should make for good spots in daily fantasy lineups. Since some games will be blowouts, we’ll need to be careful with who we select. We’ll also need to track the news throughout the day, so be sure to check out our NBA Injury Report page for all the latest news and analysis. Anyway, let’s take a look at some of the options for tonight’s DFS slate.
NBA Daily Fantasy Who to start?
Point Guard
C.J. McCollum, POR at WAS, $7,100 — I think a lot of lineups will get on Damian Lillard ($9,700) in this spot vs. the Wizards, who are incredibly shorthanded and poor defensively. That seems like the perfect time to pivot to McCollum, who may not have the same ceiling but should give us a good floor at a discounted rate. I just don’t see any defenders on the Washington side who can contain both Dame and CJ. I wouldn’t be opposed to stacking them to be honest. But I also think this is a smash spot for the Blazers coming off a bad loss to the New York Knicks.
Other Options: Damian Lillard ($9,700), Devin Booker ($7,900)
Shooting Guard
Jordan McRae, WAS vs. POR, $5,800 — McRae’s value will spike a bit if Bradley Beal (leg) is ruled out. But even if Beal ends up playing, this game may not be too competitive. McRae has played at least 29 minutes in each of the past three games, and even saw 31 minutes vs. the Magic last game with Beal back. McRae can fill it up and the Blazers aren’t a great defensive team, plus McRae isn’t a bad rebounder for his position.
Other Options: Jaylen Brown ($7,700), Evan Fournier ($6,100)
Small Forward
Gordon Hayward, BOS vs. ATL, $7,000 — We already know Kemba Walker won’t play vs. the Hawks, so that opens up a ton of usage for the Celtics. My only concern with using Boston rotation players is the fact this game could be over at halftime. Still, with Trae Young back the game could be somewhat competitive. If that’s the case, I love Hayward over Brown — though Jaylen is a fine play also. Hayward would be more of a tournament pivot off Brown and Jayson Tatum ($8,200). Hayward is cheaper and should fill up the stat sheet a bit more.
Other Options: LeBron James ($11,200), Tobias Harris ($6,600)
Power Foward
John Collins, ATL at BOS, $7,500 — I mentioned Trae Young being back for the Hawks, but I don’t think that should get us off Collins. The Celtics’ only weakness may be size up front and I think it’s a matchup where Collins can thrive a bit. Game script shouldn’t impact Collins’ playing time either; a few games ago Atlanta got blown out by the Bulls and Collins played nearly 33 minutes. Collins has double-digit rebounds in three of four games since returning from suspension.
Other Options: Kelly Oubre Jr. ($6,800), Carmelo Anthony ($6,700)
Center
Anthony Davis, LAL vs. NOP, $10,300 — If I’m paying up for anyone on this slate it’s AD in a revenge spot vs. the Pelicans at home. I think this price on AD is really affordable and he seems due having not scored more than 50 DKFP in four straight games. When Davis returned to New Orleans for the first time, he dropped 41 points with nine rebounds. The narrative is strong with this one and I’m willing to bank on it again tonight.
