How and what to watch in the Potato Bowl between Ohio and Nevada

Suspensions and interim coaches are all over the place for the Nevada defense. Can the Wolf Pack overcome it? We break down what to watch, how to watch via live online stream, and a best bet.

The slate of bowl games is not over yet, and we get things going again with the Ohio Bobcats and Nevada Wolf Pack in the Potato Bowl.

Ohio is coming into this game with a 6-6 overall record, winning two consecutive games over Bowling Green and Akron to become bowl eligible. The Bobcats finished in a tie for second place in the Mid-American Conference - East division with a 5-3 conference record.

Nevada will be dealing with four defensive players suspended after a postgame scuffle with UNLV in a loss in the regular season finale. The Wolf Pack are coming into this game winning three of their last four games, finishing third in the Mountain West - West division with a 7-5 overall record including 4-4 in conference play.

Game Time/TV Channel/Streaming

The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl will begin at 3:30 p.m. ET in Boise, Idaho on Friday, Jan. 3 and can be seen on ESPN and streamed on WatchESPN.

Point Spread, Totals, Odds, Trends

Spread: Ohio (-8) vs. Nevada
Point Total: 58.5 O/U (-110)
Money line: Ohio (-295), Nevada (+230)

- Ohio is 4-8 against the spread this season.

- The total went over in five of Ohio’s last seven games.

- The total went under in four of Nevada’s last six games.

The Best Bet

Nevada’s depth on defense is a significant issue with the suspensions for this game. Also, the Wolf Pack will roll out three interim coaches on the defensive side of the ball. Because of these situations, I expect a big game from Ohio quarterback Nathan Rourke in his final game as the Bobcats run away with this one.

Pick: Ohio -8
