There are bunch of key injuries that should open up a lot of value on the six-game Wednesday NBA slate. The team we’re all waiting on is the Rockets, who are listing James Harden and Clint Capela as questionable to play. I’d imagine both will return, but if that isn’t the case, we need to make sure we identify the right values on Houston. We’ll also identify some other value options here as well, so let’s get into some top bargain options at $5K or under on DraftKings.
Reggie Jackson, PG, DET @ BKN ($4,500)
Jackson has played three games since returning from injury and he’s been lights out shooting the ball. Over three games, Jackson is averaging 15 points and 4.0 assists while shooting 50% from 3-point range. He’s gradually getting more minutes, up to 25 on Monday vs. the Cavaliers. The Nets are allowing 116.6 points per game over the past five games, 40.5% to opponents from downtown over that stretch. Given the restriction, Jackson hasn’t had his price increased much, so this is a good point tonight.
Mike Conley, PG, UTA @ SAS ($3,800)
Conley returned from a hamstring injury five games ago and hasn’t really seen a big role for the Jazz. Clearly the injury is still bothering him a bit, but we saw him play his highest minutes total the past five games (24:54). He wasn’t overly productive with 10 points, three rebounds and four assists at a 26.8% usage. While Conley didn’t do much, it’s still good to see the minutes and usage there. This is a good matchup and Conley’s price hasn’t been this low all season.
PJ Tucker, PF/C, HOU @ POR ($4,600)
Ahhh, we’re finally at the Rockets. So if Clint Capela is still out, I think Tucker is a good GPP value option. Even if Cap is in, Tucker will see 30+ minutes due to his defense in a good game environment. The Blazers struggle to defend the 3-point line, so if anything Tucker should get a few good looks from outside. If Harden is out, Tucker should take on more of a distributor role, having dished out at least four assists in three of four games.
Denzel Valentine, SG/SF, CHI @ IND ($3,700)
In case you were wondering, yes Denzel Valentine is still in the NBA on the Bulls. And because the Bulls are so ravaged by injuries, Valentine is getting minutes off the bench. He scored 16 points with four boards and three assists in 19 minutes against the Spurs on Monday. I can see Valentine picking up around 15-20 minutes again tonight against the Pacers. If that’s the case, he’ll have a decent chance to return value at very low ownership. His usage the past three games hasn’t been below 24.1%.
