UPDATE: Jan. 28, 6:55 p.m. — Porzingis will play vs. the Suns, per coach Rick Carlise.

Dallas Mavericks PF/C Kristaps Porzingis is questionable to play in Tuesday’s game vs. the Phoenix Suns. He’s still recovering from that knee injury and the Mavs want to be cautious here. So Porzingis may be held out.

Fantasy basketball analysis: Dallas Mavericks PF/C Kristaps Porzingis

If Porzingis is held out — which could be the case with the Mavs on the second of a back-to-back — then I think there are a few spots we can look. Maxi Kleber ($4,200) will likely start at center with Dwight Powell (Achilles) done for the season. Behind Kleber, the Mavs don’t really have much size, so unless Willie Cauley-Stein can make his team debut, we’d have to look at values in Dorian Finney-Smith ($4,400) and Justin Jackson ($3,000). Kleber is a strong cash play and even DFS is a good option. If WCS gets in there, at $4,700, he’d be another decent cash option, but he may be eased into a new system under coach Rick Carlisle.
