The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs are set to face off in Super Bowl 54 next week, and there will be plenty of available DraftKings Showdown contests available for the championship game. Some players’ DFS values might not indicate their full potential, so we picked out sleeper wide receivers you should consider picking up.
Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins, $7,000 flex
Watkins isn’t an under-the-radar player by any means, but he does get lost playing behind Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, and Damien Williams at times. Even still, he’s reached double-digits in DKFP in each of his playoff appearances this year. He converted 10 targets into seven receptions for 114 yards and a score in his last outing. The amount of attention San Francisco will have to direct toward Kansas City’s other playmakers could allow Watkins to break free. It only takes one play in the Chiefs’ offense, and Watkins is a likely candidate to benefit from the gravity of his teammates. He’s a flex play at $7,000 but could have as much upside as any of the his team’s team options.
49ers WR Kendrick Bourne, $3,400 flex
If this game turns into a shootout, Jimmy Garoppolo might have to pass a little more than the eight times we saw last week in the NFC title game. Emmanuel Sanders and Deebo Samuel are the big names, but Bourne is a guy who has been a red zone favorite. He has four receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown in the playoffs. In the regular season, only caught 30 passes for 358 yards, but his five receiving touchdowns left him tied with George Kittle for most on the team. It’s a roll of the dice, but Bourne offers big touchdown potential.
