Overvalued running backs to avoid in Super Bowl 54

The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs are set to face off in Super Bowl 54 next week, and there will be plenty of available DraftKings Showdown contests available for the championship game. Some players’ DFS values might be a little higher than they should be, so we picked out overvalued running backs you should be wary of.

49ers RBs Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman

Raheem Mostert is bound to be a very popular pick after the astounding performance he had in the NFC title game. He’s likely to be a riskier captain’s pick ($14,100) for many after he ran for 220 yards and four scores against the Green Bay Packers, but that might not be the best idea. San Francisco’s trio of running backs has essentially been reduced to a duo following Tevin Coleman dislocating his shoulder last week. Coleman is reportedly making progress and could recover in time to play in the Super Bowl now, but we don’t know how limited he might be. If he does play, Mostert’s ceiling will be lowered.

Coleman isn’t worth captaining either at ($9,400), seeing as he logged three DNPs in practice last week. Coach Kyle Shanahan said “we’ll see” when asked if Coleman would see more action in the practices leading up to the Super Bowl next week, and it’s unlikely he’ll be productive on Sunday if he doesn’t at least log a few limited practices. But if he gets a feel for contact at some point this week, he could be worth a flex play ($6,400). We’ll keep tracking his injury progress.
