Season performance
Bell saw decent playing time this season for the Chiefs, playing on 38% of the Chiefs’ offensive plays throughout 15 games, but a blocking role made his fantasy value close to non-existent. Bell touched the ball just eight times and saw only 15 total targets, amounting to just one target per game. Bell was not targeted in the red zone at all during the regular season.
Playoff performance
Bell has seen solid playing time in the postseason, playing on about 45% of the Chiefs’ offensive plays through two postseason games. Bell’s most noteworthy fantasy performance came in the Chiefs’ divisional round game against the Texans, where he scored the first touchdown of his career. Bell finished with two catches on two targets for 15 yards and a TD in the divisional round, but did not see any targets in the conference championship game.
Matchup
The Chiefs face an elite 49ers defense that was tough against tight ends, limiting TE to the sixth fewest DraftKings fantasy points during the regular season. Tight ends recorded just 552 receiving yards against the 49ers in 16 games, the fewest receiving yards tight ends recorded against any defense.
DFS pricing and analysis
Bell is priced as a punt play in DraftKings Showdown contests. Fantasy owners should not expect any degree of volume, as Bell has seen more than three targets in only one game in his entire career. Bell could serve some purpose as a punt play in a projected high-scoring game if he’s able to find the end zone again. As a blocking tight end who is not viewed as a receiving threat, Bell could fool the defense in a play action situation in the red zone, but that’s probably his upside here.
