Philadelphia 76ers SG/SF Josh Richardson will miss at least the next 2-3 weeks as he recovers from a left hamstring strain suffered during Wednesday’s 107-95 loss to the Toronto Raptors, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. Richardson will be re-evaluated after that point in time and we should then receive a more definitive timeline on when we might expect a return. The 26-year-old missed six games due to a right hamstring issue back in early December.
Fantasy Basketball Analysis: Philadelphia 76ers SG/SF Josh Richardson
While Richardson’s injury could leave the 76ers without two starters for Saturday’s contest with the Los Angeles Lakers, there are rumblings that Joel Embiid (hand) might be able to suit up for the team this weekend. If that’s the case, Embiid’s presence would basically negate any additional value a player like Matisse Thybulle or Furkan Korkmaz might see in the immediate future, as the center owns a team-high 31.8% usage rate. However, if Embiid continues to be sidelined, both Thybulle and Korkmaz have some intrigue. The latter, in particular, has proven to be a coveted spacing option for Philadelphia as of late, shooting an impressive 42.1% from 3-point range since the beginning of December. Kormaz’s 23.2% usage rate against the Raptors was also the third-highest mark on the roster.
