New England Patriots wide receiver underwent shoulder surgery last week, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The rehab is not lengthy and Edelman is expected to be ready for the offseason program in April.

Edelman caught 100 passes for 1,117 yards and six touchdowns. The yardage total was a career high and it was his second most receptions and touchdowns, but it was a rough year for Edelman. He was regularly on the injury report, and it seemed to slow him down considerably the final month of the season. He caught a combined 13 passes for 137 yards in Weeks 15-18 and the Wild Card round.

Heading into 2020 fantasy football drafts, Edelman remains a great PPR option and a still decent standard league option. N’Keal Harry started to emerge late and the addition of Mohamed Sanu is something that could boost the unit in 2020. That being said, look for the Patriots to invest in another pass catcher, with tight end standing out as an area of need. The more weapons, the less opposing defenses can focus on Edelman.
