Trae Young fantasy basketball, player prop recap vs. Raptors

Fantasy basketball stats: 42 points, six rebounds, 14 assists — 71.5 FPTS
Player Prop Record: 6-2

Young nearly led the Hawks to a big upset win over the Raptors, but fell short. If you bet the Hawks on the spread, they covered, plus Young’s prop bets were very favorable today. Young hit on every prop except for 3-pointers (UNDER 3.5) and First FG of the Game (+650). It was Young’s third 40-point game in January. At $9,500 on DraftKings, Young will be among the top GPP plays on the slate.

Third Quarter Update: Young shouldn’t need to do much to hit the points OVER of 26.5 heading into the fourth. He’s got 24 points with 12 assists and three boards, so the PTS/AST/REB total OVER also in a good spot at 39.0. Young is up to 45.75 FPTS as well and is on pace for another 60-point outing. Young just needs to stave off Pascal Siakam (18 points) for top scorer in the game.

Halftime Update: Trae finishes the first half with 15 points and 10 assists (OVER) for 31.75 FPTS through 19 minutes. The Hawks trailed by 12 in the game, but mounted a comeback and are leading 60-57 at the half. As mentioned, Young has already hit the assist over and the double-double. He only has one 3-pointer, so would need three more for that OVER. He also only has one rebound and received a technical foul with 31.9 seconds left in the half, which has to make us a bit nervous. Still, props are looking good on most of the OVER hits for Young.

First Quarter Update: Young ($9,500) got off to a slow start, but came on strong mid-way through the first, finishing with seven points and four assists for 13 fantasy points. There’s no doubt Young will get to double-digit scoring, but with five dimes already, Trae has a legit shot at a double-double at +190 odds. He’s also pretty close to his assist total at +115, so a lot of value looking good so far. Trae missed out on the first FG if you were on that.

Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks welcome in the defending champion Toronto Raptors on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday. The MLK holiday is always a busy one for the NBA schedule. As you prepare to take in plenty of basketball, we’ll be keeping you updated on Young’s fantasy basketball and DFS stats, while also seeing how he does against his player props on DraftKings Sportsbook for the game. Here are the lines for Young:

Trae Young player prop bets vs. Raptors

Point Total: OVER 26.5
First Field Goal: +650
3-Pointers: 3.5 (+135)
Rebounds: OVER 5.5 (+140)
Assists: OVER 8.5 (+115)
Double-Double: Yes (+190), No (-240)
Top Point Scorer: -125
Points, Rebounds, Assists Total: 40.5 (-110)

*Young has hit the OVER in each of the bolded props

Young is coming off a mixed bag of games recently. He only managed 16 points in 27 minutes in a blowout loss to the Pistons over the weekend. Prior to that he had scored at least 31 points in back-to-back games, and had dropped 42 points in his insane triple-double on Jan. 8 vs. the Rockets. The Raptors rank 6th in the NBA in points allowed per game (105.9) and 3rd in opponent 3PT% (33.3), so this won’t be an easy outing for Young.
