Super Bowl 54 point total creeps up while line remains the same a day later

The Chiefs have been scoring a ton of points lately and total bettors are sticking with that trend in the early going for Super Bowl 54 against the 49ers.

The Kansas City Chiefs are the early favorites in Super Bowl 54 where they will face the San Francisco 49ers. Following the 49ers win over the Green Bay Packers, DraftKings Sportsbook opened Kansas City as 1.5-point favorites, with the point total set at 53. The Chiefs opened as -124 favorites on the money line, while the 49ers were +102 underdogs.

It’s now a little over ten hours since the line first opened, and we are seeing small changes. The line remains the same, but the point total has crept up to 53.5. The Chiefs are now -122 on the money line and the 49ers are +108.

The point total movement is not surprising. The Chiefs recent run has been impressive, and their last three must-win games have gone over with a relative amount of ease. At the same time, it’s worth noting that prior to Week 17 against the Chargers, the Chiefs had gone under the point total five straight weeks. This point total will likely creep up for now, but at some point sharp money is probably going to slow that trend.
