The Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs will battle it out in Sunday’s AFC title game in hopes of advancing to the Super Bowl. The Titans’ lethal rushing game will face the Chiefs’ dominant aerial attack at Arrowhead Stadium, and we break some of the best plays for Sunday’s DraftKings Showdown.
Captain Obvious
Patrick Mahomes, QB, Chiefs ($19,800)
It’s hard not to pick Mahomes when he tallied a season high 41.1 DKFP in the Divisional Round. Despite facing a 24-0 hole, the third-year signal caller rebounded by throwing for 321 yards and five touchdowns in a comeback victory. But it doesn’t end there, as Mahomes also led Kansas City in rushing yards (53). The fact that he’s already thrown for 446 yards and three scores against Tennessee on the road this year makes this an obvious choice.
Captain Courageous
Derrick Henry, RB, Titans ($18,000)
Henry’s ridiculous hot streak began when he rushed for 188 yards and two scores against the Chiefs in Tennessee. Now he’ll get a chance to prove Kansas City still can’t stop him. Henry has rushed for at least 182 yards in three straight contests and there’s been no indication that he’ll slow down anytime soon.
Flex Men
Travis Kelce, TE, Chiefs ($11,000)
Kelce is banged up, but he should be ready to go come Sunday. The star tight end finished the Divisional Round with 44 DKFP — his best mark of the season. He hauled in 10 receptions for 134 yards against the Houston Texans and scored three touchdowns in the first half. Even after dealing with an injury in the game, he returned to the field and remained dominant. Kelce caught all seven of his targets and found the end zone the last time he played Tennessee, and the Titans don’t have enough talent in their secondary to keep track of all the Chiefs’ offensive talent.
Damien Williams, RB, Chiefs ($9,400)
Williams is on a roll and should continue to put up solid numbers. Although his carry totals don’t stack up to those of a traditional feature back, his versatility and lack of competition in the backfield make him a great choice. Williams has scored five touchdowns in his last two games and has been a factor in the running game and as a receiver. Williams’ backups haven’t recorded a DKFP since Week 17, and it’s unlikely they’ll start to be productive now.
