The Knicks will re-evaluate Barrett after one week, though X-rays were negative on the ankle, so this seems to be just precautionary. The Knicks aren’t playing for anything and Barrett is a future cornerstone of the franchise.
With Barrett sidelined, we should see Damyean Dotson potentially start at SG for New York. He played 26 minutes on Thursday. PG Frank Ntilikina could also see some time off the ball at SG as well.
New York Knicks rookie G R.J. Barrett was forced to leave Thursday’s game vs. the Phoenix Suns early due to an ankle injury.
RJ Barrett (sprained right ankle) will not return to tonight’s game.

Barrett was injured in the second half and did not return. He only managed to play 14 minutes, finishing with seven points three boards and two assists. The Knicks were also without Reggie Bullock against the Suns, so they’ll need to use Damyean and Frank Ntilikina at SG off the bench.
