The NFL announced on Thursday that Demi Lovato will sing the National Anthem at Super Bowl 54 in Miami. The announcement means we can start to prepare for what some might call the most important part of the Super Bowl Anthem performance: the prop bets!
Sportsbooks will offer a variety of prop bets in which you can bet on singular events before and during the Super Bowl. There will be the usual over/unders on statistical performances, but the Super Bowl brings a little something extra. You can bet on things like the result of the coin toss, the first song of the halftime show, and what color the Gatorade will be that is dumped on the winning coach.
For the Anthem, you will be able to bet on the length of the song. There was some controversy last year with Gladys Knight singing the word “brave” twice. Sportsbooks will often say the first use of Brave is the end of the song for payout purposes, but there can be controversy.
