UPDATE: Jan. 16, 5:32 p.m. — Fournier is being listed as questionable for Thursday’s game vs. the Los Angeles Clippers on the 5:30 p.m. NBA Injury Report.
DJ Augustin will remain out, while Michael Carter-Williams is listed as doubtful. So pretty much same situation as last night against the Lakers. Markelle Fultz notched his first triple-double in the loss to the Lake Show, so if Fournier remains out, Fultz is another decent play in DFS. Terrence Ross was the backup guard, so he would also be in line for some ball-handling duties, but ultimately we could see a lopsided outcome again vs. the Clips.
UPDATE: Jan. 15, 9:46 p.m. — Fournier has been ruled out vs. the Lakers.
INJURY UPDATE:
— Orlando Magic PR (@Magic_PR) January 16, 2020
Orlando Magic guard Evan Fournier will not play tonight at L.A. Lakers due to a right quad contusion.
So the Magic will be down three players in the backcourt with Fournier, Augustin and Carter-Williams all out. I like Terrence Ross and Markelle Fultz in DFS and both are very viable season-long plays, of course.
Orlando Magic SG Evan Fournier is questionable to play Wednesday vs. the Los Angeles Lakers.
.@OrlandoMagic G Evan Fournier (right quad contusion ) is now QUESTIONABLE tonight vs. @Lakers. He got “kicked,” according to head coach Steve Clifford, in Monday’s win in Sacramento. ORL already without PGs DJ Augustin & Michael Carter-Williams because of injuries.

The Magic are already going to be without DJ Augustin and Michael Carter-Williams, so at this point they could be down to two healthy bodies in the backcourt. Markelle Fultz ($5,600) and Terrence Ross ($4,400) are both potential chalk value plays if Fournier is ruled out. I like both guards regardless of Fournier’s status.
If anything this impacts the betting side of this game. The spread was pretty wide to open at -9.5 in favor of the Lakers. It’s currently down on DK Sportsbook, but if you can get a bet in on L.A. ASAP that would be ideal. The Lakers have a good chance at covering a wide spread even if Fournier plays, so you’re only getting value the sooner you can snag a line.
