Detroit Pistons big man Christian Wood has flashed some potential during his fourth NBA season, and this campaign become his best yet after the trade deadline. After only playing in 51 games through his first three seasons, Wood is averaging 9.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest on a career-high 57.2% shooting. He’s set personal bests in points (28) and rebounds (14) with Detroit and has proven he can be very productive when given more than his average workload of 17.1 minutes per game.

Rumors are swirling regarding the possibility of Andre Drummond being traded. The prolific rebounder’s contract is set to expire after this season. His departure would make Wood a starter, giving him more minutes and value. Wood can play power forward or center and should also benefit from Blake Griffin being out of the picture because of recurring knee problems.
