Quarterback rankings for Championship round

We take you through some of the best quarterbacks going in the AFC and NFC Championship games for fantasy football.

And we are down to four. We’ve watched as Drew Brees and Lamar Jackson fell to the wayside, along with a slew of good quarterbacks and now we have the tried and true cream of the crop of the 2020 playoffs.

Patrick Mahomes just threw four touchdowns in a quarter and five for the game while no other quarterback left has thrown for more than two in a playoff game so far. His 321 yards passing last week leads all the quarterbacks still playing and he has the best on-paper matchup of the weekend. He’s also proven he can throw on the Titans, as he put up 446 yards and three touchdowns in a loss in Week 10 in Tennessee.

So, getting around Mahomes as the No. 1 pick this week is nearly impossible, especially when Aaron Rodgers heads to San Francisco to take on a healthier defense than he and his team were stomped by in Week 12.

Ryan Tannehill has yet to throw over 88 yards in his two playoff games, but did find the end zone three times against the Ravens, twice through the air and once on the ground. It will be interesting to see if the Chiefs can put up enough points to keep Derrick Henry from running the ball 30 times while Tannehill attempts fewer than 15 passes like he has so far in the playoffs. If they do, Tannehill could end up being a sneaky play this weekend.

When Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers destroyed the Packers in Week 12, Garoppolo had a good game but wasn’t asked to do too much as he completed 14-of-20 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns. He wasn’t asked to do much in their drubbing of the Vikings last week either. Garoppolo has shown great upside when needed, but Kyle Shanahan will use his defense and run game to win before over-extending Garoppolo.
