Travis Kelce ACTIVE, will play through pain in Divisional round

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was limited in practice with a knee injury. It sounds like he’ll play through some pain.

UPDATE: Travis Kelce is officially active and will play against the Texans in the Divisional round.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report, but he is expected to play, according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport. He was limited in practice all week with a knee injury, and Rapoport is describing it as “IT band tightness that’s causing a small bit of pain.”

Kelce is the third highest priced pass catcher behind Tyreek Hill and DeAndre Hopkins in the Chiefs-Texans Showdown contest. The Texans defense has struggled across the board, but their best work has been against tight ends. They rank 19th against tight ends in DKFP allowed, 21st against wide receivers, and 27th against running backs.

Kelce is not a bad play necessarily, but given the knee injury, it might make sense to consider alternatives this week. Damien Williams gets enough work in the passing game that he gets a boost in daily fantasy. And for $1,000 less as a flex and $1,500 less as a Captain, he offers more value than Kelce this week.
