The Seattle Seahawks aerial attack undid the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round, and they’ll look to conjure up more mojo against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday in the Divisional Round. Russell Wilson will try to make the most of his top two targets, Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf.
Although Lockett has been Wilson’s go-to guy for some time, Metcalf dominated in Seattle’s first playoff game of the season. Whether the rookie will emerge as the Seahawks’ most lethal pass catcher moving forward remains to be seen.
Fantasy football analysis: Seahawks WRs Tyler Lockett, D.K. Metcalf
Metcalf doesn’t have nearly as many receptions as Lockett this year, but has led Seattle in targets and receptions for the last two weeks. Metcalf’s size and strength make him the ideal recipient for long balls and 50-50 balls, which often both often translate to plenty of yardage. Lockett’s routes are more diverse though, so he could benefit from the Packers looking to eliminate the deep patterns.
Who Green Bay prioritizes stopping will have a significant effect on which receiver has the best performance. Cornerback Jaire Alexander will likely spend more time watching the biggest threat, which could result in the other having more space to operate.
Start/Sit Recommendation
Both Lockett and Metcalf are worth starting.
