Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins once famously proclaimed “You like that!” during his time in Washington. He followed that up in the locker room last week after beating the Saints, yelling it as he walked into the locker room.
On Saturday of the Divisional round, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman indeed did like it. Cousins made an off-target throw that landed right in the hands of Sherman. As the 49ers cornerback walked off the field, he was seen saying, “I like that.”
Cousins had mostly avoided Sherman’s side of the field, targeting the cornerback just once in the first half, according to Next Gen Stats. One has to imagine he won’t be targeting that side much the rest of the day.
The 49ers turned the pick into a touchdown to take a 24-10 lead on the Vikings in the third quarter.
