UPDATE: Adam Thielen is officially active and will play against the 49ers in the Divisional round. There is some concern that his stitches might not hold up, but he looked okay in warmups and has a good chance to be a full participant.
The Minnesota Vikings will have both of their starting wide receivers in place for Saturday’s Divisional round matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Adam Thielen is listed as questionable on the final injury report, but he expects to play after suffering an ankle injury in practice this week. Stefon Diggs dealt with an illness early in the week, but was removed from the final report.
Thielen got tangled with a teammate in practice on Wednesday and it resulted in him getting cleated in the ankle and needing four stitches. He initially was concerned it was an Achilles injury, per Ian Rapoport, but that concern was quickly put to bed.
He posted an optimistic message to Instagram Saturday morning suggesting he’s good to be active. Additionally, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported signs point to him playing, and he is “expected to wear protective padding around his stitched-up ankle.”
Thielen had a huge game last week against the New Orleans Saints, catching seven passes for 129 yards and finishing with 22.2 DKFP. It’s a tough call how the ankle will impact his performance against the 49ers. His Showdown Captain price is $13,200 and his Flex price is $8,800, both of which are the highest price for receivers in the Vikings-49ers Showdown matchup. Stefon Diggs comes in at $12,000 and $8,000 in Showdown.
