Who to play of Derrick Henry vs. Mark Ingram in Divisional Round DFS

Which running back from this AFC Divisional Round match-up should you have in your line up this weekend?

The Tennessee Titans are on the road once again this weekend, as they travel to Baltimore to take on the top ranked team in the AFC. The Ravens are coming off an extra week of rest as they look to defeat the Titans and move on to the AFC championship. That extra rest was perhaps most beneficial to Mark Ingram, as he continues to recover from a calf injury suffered in Week 16. Derrick Henry may not be rested, but he is certainly on a roll as he has been consistently bulldozing teams all season. Which of these running backs will be most valuable in your DFS line-ups this week? We break down the fantasy football implications below.

Fantasy Football Advice: Titans RB Derrick Henry

Derrick Henry was a force to be reckoned with in 2019, and he brought that energy right into 2020, as he demolished the Patriots defense in Wild Card weekend. Henry racked up 182 yards and one touchdown on 34 carries. He also recorded one reception for 22 yards. The Patriots, who tend to focus their defense on removing their opponents’ top weapon, had no answer for Derrick Henry at any point in the game. In turn, the Titans continued feeding him the ball as he put the team on his back and led them to victory.

The Ravens have a rush defense of similar caliber to the Patriots rush defense and will look to learn from the Patriots’ mistakes and grasp for a solution to stop Henry. Though his price point is high at $8200, Derrick Henry has proven that he is worth it time and time again this season. With the season on the line, you can expect him to bring his A game.

Fantasy Football Advice: Ravens RB Mark Ingram

Ingram finished the regular season as the 11th ranked fantasy football running back, but unfortunately suffered a calf injury late in Week 16. Ingram has not seen any game action since his injury, so there is a lot of uncertainty about how his play will be affected. As of Wednesday, Ingram has yet to practice this week, which does not bode well for his health status. If healthy, Ingram would be a smart play with a price tag of $6700. However, calf injuries can significantly impact running backs in their ability to quickly cut and we may see limitations in the explosive burst we are used to seeing from Ingram.

The Ravens also have several other capable running backs that they have been willing to use throughout the season in Justice Hill and Gus Edwards. They may be cautious with their starter if he is not 100% healthy. Keep an eye on Ingram’s practice status on Thursday and Friday. He may be a gamble this week and you are likely to find better options for your line-up. If Ingram is unable to play, Gus Edwards becomes a value play at $4900.
