Who to play of Stefon Diggs vs. Emmanuel Sanders in Divisional Round DFS

We break down how you should go about playing Stefon Diggs and Emmanuel Sanders in this weekend’s Divisional Round DFS contests.

What to do with the San Francisco 49ersEmmanuel Sanders and the Minnesota VikingsStefon Diggs could turn out to be on of this weekend’s more difficult DFS dilemmas. Both wideouts have potential to light it up or be duds in the Divisional Round.

The 49ers receiving corps has been plagued by several long-term injuries that could make Sanders a more valuable piece in his team’s offense. Diggs on the other hand has been the top dog for the majority of 2019. But he could be about to experience a role change in the postseason after how his last outing went. We broke down who you should start in DFS contests before both of them hit the field on Saturday.

Fantasy football analysis: Vikings WR Stefon Diggs, 49ers WR Emmanuel Sanders

Although Diggs was presumed to be the Vikings’ WR1 in the Wild Card round, he only received three targets during his team’s victory against the New Orleans Saints. He was outperformed by Adam Thielen, who followed up poor showings in his last two appearances by scoring 22.2 DKFP. Minnesota found a way to get Diggs involved down the stretch and even resorted to handing him the ball on running plays. But he was an afterthought in the offense for much of the day. The fact that Diggs is battling an illness and wasn’t seen at practice Tuesday or Wednesday adds to why you should be cautious with him this week.

Sanders hasn’t been as consistent as Diggs since being traded to the 49ers but can have big games. Deebo Samuel is running hot as San Francisco’s top wide receiver, but Sanders should get a comparable number of targets.

DFS Recommendation

Start Sanders in classic DFS formats. Consider making Diggs a captain in Showdown contests because of the potential for a big bounce back game.
