The San Francisco 49ers host the Minnesota Vikings in a Divisional Round contest on Saturday, and they have wrapped up their final practices for the week. With the close of practice comes the final injury reports. The teams square off Saturday at 4:35 p.m. ET to open the second round of the 2020 NFL playoffs.

Minnesota Vikings injury report

Alexander suffered a knee injury in Week 17 and was unable to play in the Vikings Wild Card upset of the Saints. He has since had surgery on what has been described as a small meniscus tear. He could return if the Vikings continue advancing, but the nickel back won’t be playing on Sunday.

Thielen suffered a significant cut on his ankle at the team’s Wednesday practice and had to get stitches. He did not practice on Thursday, but it sounds like he has a good chance of playing on Saturday. Related to this, Stefon Diggs sat out the first two days of practice with an illness but was a full participant on Thursday. He’s in good shape for Saturday.

San Francisco 49ers injury report

There are a few big pieces of news, although one is not on the injury report. Dee Ford was limited all week, but is expected to play on Sunday. Mike Person was limited twice and then full on Thursday, which bodes well for the 49ers offensive line.

Where it gets interesting is LB Kwon Alexander’s return. He will return from injured reserve this weekend and be available after tearing his pectoral muscle earlier this year. Having him and Ford back is a huge boost for the 49ers defense.
