The Baltimore Ravens are everybody’s darling. Well, maybe not if you’re a fan of another team, but even fans of other teams can get excited about Lamar Jackson and company. They entered the season with a host of questions, but after a 2-2 start, they won 12 straight to close out the season with home field advantage in the playoffs. They have two games to win to get to the Super Bowl, but the odds are in their favor.
Odds to get to and win Super Bowl 54
To reach Super Bowl 54: -110
To win Super Bowl 54: +220
The Ravens are heavy favorites to emerge from the AFC, but it won’t be a walk in the park. The Kansas City Chiefs are a dangerous team with the other bye, and the Chiefs beat Baltimore earlier this season. The Ravens have wins over New England, Houston, and Buffalo, would be sizable favorites if they faced Tennessee in the Divisional round. They’re the team to beat and most people would not argue otherwise.
Super Bowl 54 matchup odds
The Ravens have the tightest bunching of odds for their six possible Super Bowl matchups. A Wild Card entrant to the Super Bowl would not be a shocker, but would be significantly longer odds.
49ers-Ravens has the best odds of all 36 potential Super Bowl matchups, and would be a fun rematch of their Week 13 thriller. Saints, Packers, and Seahawks offer up some of the best quarterbacks in the game to match with Jackson. Ravens-Packers could also be fun for Mark Ingram vs. Aaron Jones given the less than stellar run defenses both teams bring to the table.
Ravens vs. 49ers: +375
Ravens vs. Saints: +550
Ravens vs. Packers: +850
Ravens vs. Eagles: +2500
Ravens vs. Seahawks: +2500
Ravens vs. Vikings: +3300
Exact Super Bowl 54 outcome odds
The six possible opponents brings 12 possible results, and they provide a hint at who would be favored in each game. The Ravens would be favored in all six, and they would be sizable favorites against the Wild Card teams. I could see the Ravens getting up near double digits against the Vikings or Eagles if Baltimore impresses in their first two games.
The best value matchup here would probably be the Ravens beating the Packers (+1250). Green Bay has a first round bye, but is behind the Saints for oddsmakers. Any team with a bye has a decent shot at making the Super Bowl, so why not go with an undervalued Packers team as the opponent?
Ravens beat 49ers: +625
Ravens beat Saints: +900
49ers beat Ravens: +925
Saints beat Ravens: +1250
Ravens beat Packers: +1250
Packers beat Ravens: +2200
Ravens beat Eagles: +3000
Ravens beat Seahawks: +3300
Ravens beat Vikings: +4000
Seahawks beat Ravens: +6600
Eagles beat Ravens: +7500
Vikings beat Ravens: +8500
Super Bowl 54 MVP odds
If the Ravens win the Super Bowl, Lamar Jackson is probably going to win the MVP award. But if you want to be a contrarian, your best bet would probably be Mark Ingram, or one of Marcus Peters or Earl Thomas. If Mark Andrews or Marquise Brown has a big game, Jackson likely will do plenty more. But Ingram could carry them if Lamar gets stifled at all, while Peters or Thomas could make a big defensive play to swing the game. Ingram or Peters are my two most intriguing sleeper bets.
Lamar Jackson: +300
Mark Ingram: +3300
Mark Andrews: +4000
Marquise Brown: +5000
Marcus Peters: +6600
Earl Thomas: +10000
