The tight end pool is shallow as usual but the small slate makes it incredibly shallow. But it also hones us in on two strong players and then we get to figure out the rest. Dallas Goedert and Jared Cook are my no-doubt Top 2 tight ends this week due to Zach Ertz’s injury and Cook’s strong play of late.
I would be quite surprised to see Zach Ertz suit up this week, as he’s dealing with cracked ribs and a lacerated kidney. Maybe he ends up playing, but even if he does, I doubt he gets much or any practices in and Goedert runs as the No. 1.
Cook has come on strong since a slow start and only ranks behind George Kittle in fantasy points since Week 5. I do wish Minnesota wasn’t so tough on tight ends, as they’ve given up just one touchdown to the position on the year but Cook and Brees are playing too well to knock him down.
Jacob Hollister, Joshua Perkins and Jonnu Smith are the only other tight ends I’d feel comfortable using this week at tight end.
