The 2019 NFL season is upon us, and that means it’s time for picks against the spread! These casinos aren’t going to build themselves, so I’m ready to jump back in and take care of some business.
Thankfully, I’ve gotten off a positive start in the financial column. Back in August, I bet on the Green Bay Packers at +3.5 on the road against the Chicago Bears in the Thursday opener. Shortly before the game, I sprinkled a few bucks on the Packers moneyline. A couple wins later, it’s safe to say this could be my peak in 2019!
Now that we’re into Sunday, it’s time for the rest of my picks. You can mark me down for nine underdogs in Week 1, including the Oakland Raiders. They’ve had a disaster of an offseason — all in the span of about a week. They released Antonio Brown on Saturday following a back-and-forth in which they fined him, he apologized, they took away his guaranteed money, and he asked for his release. I put down some money on the Raiders moneyline prior to this nonsense. I’m skeptical right now, but I’ll stick with the bet I made.
I’m a fan of grabbing home underdogs, and in this case, that includes the Carolina Panthers. They’re a solid team with a quality quarterback, and I could see them contending with the Falcons to supplant the Saints in the NFC South. This week, the Panthers host a Rams team that is ripe for regression. I’m feeling pretty good about their chances in this one.
