Wide receiver should continue to be a very deep position in 2019 fantasy football. Along with the 10 or so “elite” options there are plenty of lower ranked players who could not only take a jump into the top 10, but they could also help you win your daily fantasy contest when the price is right.
The most important change for 2019 has Odell Beckham Jr. now paired with Baker Mayfield and company in Cleveland. Along with Jarvis Landry, the duo will cause defenses headaches throughout the season. The bizarre Antonio Brown show hit the road and landed in Oakland. We’ll all be watching to see if he is still a top 5 wide receiver. Andrew Luck’s retirement makes all of Indianapolis’ receiving options less desirable, but keep in mind T.Y. Hilton had a very respectable season with Jacoby Brissett under center last season. Josh Gordon and Tyreek Hill both had their offseason issues, however they are both week 1 starters.

Other than A.J. Green’s foot issue which will likely keep him out the first 3-4 games, it’s a fairly clean injury report to start the season. Keep an eye on Robby Anderson’s calf. It doesn’t appear it will cost him a game, but anything that could affect his speed may be reason enough to bump him down a few spots in the rankings.
Chris Godwin may not be a household name yet and that is why he has some sleeper appeal in Week 1. The San Francisco pass rush improved in the offseason, but with Nick Bosa questionable it could be a week or two before we see that unit at full force. Digging a little further, Dede Westbrook has a fine matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. If Nick Foles is an upgrade at quarterback then Westbrook stands to benefit in an otherwise uninspiring receiving corps. Finally, avoiding Mike Williams is a wise move in Week 1. The Los Angeles Chargers offensive line isn’t the teams strong point which could lead to more short passes for Keenan Allen and Hunter Henry.
