The Kansas City Chiefs lost wide receiver Tyreek Hill to a shoulder injury in Week 1, but it has not slowed them down. Demarcus Robinson and Mecole Hardman have both broken out in a big way since Hill went down. Over the past two weeks, Robinson has nine catches for 215 yards and three touchdowns, while Hardman has six receptions for 158 yards and two touchdowns.
As good as Patrick Mahomes and the passing game have been the past two weeks, they will be getting Hill back in the not too distant future. Hill will undergo imaging tests this week and could be two weeks from returning, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter. He was spotted going through passing drills in pre-game warmups before the Lions game.
Fantasy implications: The rich will be getting richer when Hill returns, but one has to wonder what it means for fantasy football owners. Patrick Mahomes is a clear beneficiary of Hill returning, but what happens to Hardman and Robinson? The Chiefs spent a second round pick on Hardman this past draft, while Robinson is in his fourth year and appearing to break out after a slow start. My guess is Hardman ends up the better long term play this season, but it’s anybody’s guess until we see how it shakes out on the field.
