How to handle Danny Amendola injury in Week 4 fantasy football

Will the Lions have Amendola this week or not?

Editor’s update 12:35 p.m.: The Lions have deactivated Danny Amendola due to his chest injury. The Lions face a tough matchup in the Kansas City Chiefs, and this likely means a ton of work for Marvin Jones, Kenny Golladay, and T.J. Hockenson.

Will the Detroit Lions have Danny Amendola in the lineup this week or not? Officially, the wide receiver has been listed as questionable with a chest injury. He did not practice Wednesday or Thursday, but did manage to make it back in a limited role on Friday. So far, we don’t have a clear idea of whether or not he’ll play this week.

Of course, the real question with Amendola is does it even matter?

He had a big start to the season, catching seven passes for 104 yards and a touchdown against the lowly Cardinals in Week 1, a game that ended in a 27-27 tie. Since then, however, he’s been irrelevant. He got blanked in Week 2 and managed just 37 yards last week. Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay get most of the work among Lions receivers now.

Fantasy impact: Amendola is, at best, a game-time decision. It is worth noting that the Lions did promote a receiver from their practice squad, which would suggest that the team isn’t confident about Amendola’s availability. It certainly doesn’t look like Detroit is counting on him this week, and neither should you.
