The Los Angeles Chargers will be without wide receiver Mike Williams for their road trip to Miami this week. He is officially out with an injured back.

Williams did not practice this week because of his back injury. This will be the first game he has missed this season, but there is some cause for concern that he could miss more. Williams’ back injury is not a new one. He’s struggled with it before. Recurring injuries like this are problematic for players. As for fantasy owners, if you’re banking on Williams this season, you’ll need to stay glued to the injury reports every week.

The Chargers’ No. 2 receiver hasn’t produced much for fantasy owners this season. He still hasn’t scored a touchdown, despite seeing more red zone work last week.

Fantasy impact: With Melvin Gordon expected to return this week and this game being against the hapless Dolphins, the Chargers might not need their passing game too much anyway. Keenan Allen leads the team in receiving by a mile. When Williams is healthy, he’s probably best as a streaming play depending on the opponent.
