How to handle Julian Edelman injury in Week 4 fantasy football

Looks like a game-time decision for the little guy. Here’s what that means for fantasy.

Editor’s update 8:40 a.m.: The Patriots expect to have Julian Edelman available when they face the Buffalo Bills in Week 4, according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport. That being said, Rapoport is hearing his snap count could be reduced depending on how he feels Sunday afternoon. Edelman is still worth a start, but lower expectations a little bit.

Making sense of the New England Patriots’ injury report is nothing better than a guessing game for fantasy owners. So it can be especially frustrating for fantasy owners when someone like Julian Edelman shows up listed as questionable.

The Patriots’ slot receiver is dealing with a chest injury. However, he did practice this week, in a limited role. We’ve heard a couple different reports about his status. On Thursday, it wasn’t looking to be that serious. On Friday, it was a game-time decision with things at least looking up.

Edelman scored his first touchdown of the season last week against the Jets. He’s been productive this season, but at 33-years old, time is inevitably going to start taking its toll, no matter what kind of wellness scam his quarterback’s personal trainer is feeding him.

Fantasy impact: It’d be a real surprise not to see Edelman in the lineup this week. But if he does play, it might be hard to find much room to work against a very good Bills pass defense. If Edelman sits, Jakobi Meyers would be the main slot option.
