How to handle Rashaad Penny injury in Week 4 fantasy football

The Seahawks running back is a game-time decision this week. Here’s what you need to know for fantasy purposes.

Is Rashaad Penny going to play this week? Unfortunately, that is not a simple question to answer. The Seattle Seahawks running back is officially listed as questionable, as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury that kept him out last week. He missed practice Wednesday, but did return in a limited role later in the week.

It might surprise you to recall that Penny was actually a first-round pick in 2018. His rookie season wasn’t anything special. He missed time with injuries and only managed to play his way into a limited No. 2 role. Coming into this season, there was a lot of hype about Penny in an expanded role with Chris Carson, kind of a 1b to Carson’s 1a. He had a good game in Week 2, carrying the ball 10 times for 62 yards and a touchdown, but that was largely the result of Carson’s fumblitis that week.

With Penny out last week against the Saints, Carson was back in his starting role with C.J. Prosise working in a limited backup’s job.

Fantasy impact: Penny’s day-to-day, so we won’t know anything for sure about his status until game time. If he does play, Carson is still going to be the main man in Seattle’s backfield.
