Spread picks for every NFL game in Week 4

Week 4 of the 2019 NFL season is officially underway, and by Monday night’s end, we’ll be one quarter of the way through the season for 30 of the 32 teams (the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets are on bye this week).

We get some unexpectedly intriguing matchups here in Week 4. The Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions are both unbeaten, but host what are easily their biggest matchups to date. The Bills host the New England Patriots, while the Lions host the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are a 6.5-point favorite, while the Patriots are a full touchdown favorite. It’s hard to take big road favorites, but I can’t pull the trigger on either home dog in this instance.

I had a poor Week 3, finishing 6-10 against the spread, and leaving me at 23-25 on the season. I’m off to a less than stellar start with a loss of the Green Bay Packers against the spread in a game that saw them get down near the Philadelphia Eagles goal line in the closing seconds, but unable to punch in a game-tying touchdown.

I got some bets in early in the week, and will likely get in one or two more before kickoff. I grabbed the Cowboys at -3 at New Orleans. A primetime home underdog is tough to bet against, but I think the Saints come back to earth after their big road win over Seattle last week. I also grabbed the Chiefs at -6 against the Lions, and under 38 for Vikings-Bears. I’m not 100 percent sure who will win that game, but I see a defensive struggle with both quarterbacks having a rough day. Most recently, Saturday evening I put a few bucks on the Panthers +4. I’m not totally sure what to make of Kyle Allen, but people I trust like him, and think there’s value in this line.
