Best options for Week 4 DraftKings cash games

You’ll find all kinds of DFS fantasy rankings, values, best/worst plays on DK Nation, but what about just identifying the good chalk? I play almost completely in cash games during NFL season, and it’s really important to know who we can trust and who we can’t.

New to the cash game scene? Cash games on DK refer to double-ups, 50-50s and head-to-heads — all of which roughly the top half of the field doubles its money.

So I went a bit off the radar last week, as I listed a bunch of Falcons as cash plays. Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Austin Hooper were all in my lineup, and all less than 5% owned. Fortunately they went off and I cashed, but generally taking risks in cash isn’t ideal. I’ll try and do a better job of marking lower-owned plays if I write any up, but everyone in the article should come with a good ceiling/floor combo.

Quarterbacks

Patrick Mahomes ($7,500) at DET — Has been an automatic 30 DKFP this season, and somehow this will be his first NFL game in a dome. Indoors in college, Mahomes averaged almost 500 passing yards per game.

Russell Wilson ($6,100) at ARI — Arizona has gotten shredded by QBs, including Kyle Allen last week. The Cardinals have allowed nine touchdowns and zero interceptions to the position. Seattle doesn’t trust the run game right now, and let Wilson do it himself for over 40 DKFP last week.

Daniel Jones ($5,300) vs. WAS — Danny Dimes looked for real against Tampa. Things will get tougher for him in the NFL, but not at home against a Washington defense that made Mitch Trubisky look good on MNF.

Running Backs

Christian McCaffrey ($8,800) at HOU — He’s been on two main slates, and in my cash lineup each time for 30 or more DKFP. Don’t see that trend stopping here.

Austin Ekeler ($8,000) at MIA — So now Justin Jackson is out, and even if Melvin Gordon somehow plays, it’ll be sparingly. Could be a career day against a historically bad defense for Ekeler before he has to let Melvin into the mix.

David Johnson ($6,800) vs. SEA — Take out the game DJ injured his wrist, and he’s averaging 19.5 touches and 22 DKFP per game. Alvin Kamara just did work against this defense.

Nick Chubb ($6,400) at BAL — Chubb was the only RB to play for the Browns last week, and saw seven targets. If that’s his role, he’s safe in any matchup and underpriced.

Kerryon Johnson ($5,400) vs. KC — No C.J. Anderson meant we saw Johnson play significantly more, and take a career-high in carries in Week 3. He didn’t do much with the work, but this is a much better matchup.

Wayne Gallman ($4,600) vs. WAS — Saquon’s absence means Gallman’s the guy for now. If we pencil him in for 15 touches at this price, he’s impossible value to pass up.

Wide Receivers

Keenan Allen ($7,600) at MIA — Most dominant fantasy WR by far, averaging 31.2 DKFP on 42 targets this season. Faces Miami without Mike Williams, and Travis Benjamin is doubtful. Like Ekeler, this is as high a ceiling as you could ask for.

Cooper Kupp ($6,500) vs. TB — Kupp’s still way too underpriced for his role with the Rams, returning from his ACL injury. Averaging over 10 targets per game, 89 yards per game and 22.8 DKFP. Tampa is terrible against WRs.

Tyler Lockett ($6,300) at ARI — A nice piece to put with Wilson, and has come alive the last two games — 21 catches on 26 targets for 233 yards. Arizona’s defense is trash against the entire passing game.

Christian Kirk ($5,100) vs. SEA — Super consistent with 32 catches through three weeks. No trips to the end zone also has him undervalued.

Terry McLaurin ($4,500) at NYG — McLaurin’s been on the cash radar all week, and was going to be one of the highest owned players on the slate until his hamstring injury. He’s still playable, but now we need to be cautious. Paul Richardson ($3,700) and Trey Quinn ($3,000) are also in play against this Giants secondary.

Tight Ends

Travis Kelce ($7,200) at DET — I prefer not to spend this much on TE, but you can’t not list Kelce as a cash play, especially when Tyreek Hill’s still out.

Evan Engram ($5,700) vs. WAS — Has had a pair of dominant games, and looked great with Jones. Expect more big numbers with a QB upgrade against a bad defense.

Darren Waller ($5,200) at IND — Had his biggest game yet in Week 3, securing 13-of-14 targets for 134 yards and 30.1 DKFP. He still hasn’t reached the end zone, and faces a Colts defense missing a ton of key pieces.

Will Dissly ($3,600) at ARI — The chalky pay-down spot at TE, having caught 11-of-12 targets for 112 yards and three touchdowns over the past two weeks. Arizona’s given up the most DKFP to TE thought three games.

D/ST

Chargers ($3,800) at MIA — They play the Dolphins.

Patriots ($3,700) at BUF — The best defense in the league, and averaging almost 20 DKFP. The Pats shouldn’t have issues limiting Buffalo.

Rams ($3,500) vs. TB — The Rams had a ton of success getting sacks against the Browns on the road and now host a terrible Tampa offensive line. Jameis Winston is also turnover prone.

Panthers ($2,300) at HOU — I prefer paying up, but Carolina got eight sacks last week and faces one of the most sacked QBs in Watson.
