Washington faces the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football to close out Week 3, and tight end Jordan Reed will remain sidelined due to his preseason concussion. He sat out all three days of practice this week as he remains symptomatic.
A player has to be asymptomatic at rest and then after exertion before he can be considered for return to game action. Reed suffered his concussion in Washington’s third preseason game, and has not returned since. On Sunday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported there is concern Reed might not be able to return to football at all. Reed has suffered multiple concussions in his career, but it is apparently difficult to pinpoint how many, according to Schefter.
Fantasy impact: Vernon Davis remains Washington’s starting tight end during Reed’s absence. In Week 1, Davis had four receptions for 59 yards and one touchdown. In Week 2, he had three receptions for 29 yards. He’s not a great start, but once bye weeks get here, he will hold some value.
