What to do with Rashaad Penny injury for Week 3 fantasy football

The Seattle Seahawks have been giving Chris Carson a starter’s workload, and it will only increase in Week 3. Running back Rashaad Penny suffered a hamstring injury during Wednesday practice and is not expected to play on Sunday vs. the New Orleans Saints, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The injury is not believed to be serious, but they want to be careful, per Schefter.

In Week 1, Penny had six carries to Carson’s 15, but in Week 2, Penny had ten to Carson’s 15, and Penny was the more effective of the two on a per carry basis. C.J. Prosise had two carries in Week 2 after zero in Week 1.

Fantasy impact: Carson is a must-start in Week 3, but the bigger question is what kind of workload Prosise will get. Rookie Travis Homer might be active for the game, but is unlikely to get much work. Prosise is not worth starting in standard leagues, and is only an option in PPR leagues if you are dealing with serious injuries or are in particularly deep leagues.
