What to do with Marquise Brown in Week 3 fantasy football

John Harbaugh claimed the Ravens’ offense would be unlike any to ever play in the NFL. It is not that this offense is unique, it is that it’s legendary. Through two weeks Baltimore ranks first in points per possession, has the QB1 in fantasy leagues, and has scored the most passing touchdowns. One of the key pieces of this attack has undoubtedly been rookie-wideout Marquise Brown. He has been targeted 18 times (leads the team over Mark Andrews, with 17), caught 12 of those passes and put up 233 yards with two touchdowns. Were we right questioning Brown’s Week 1 performance against a mediocre Dolphins team (4/147/2)? Probably. Would we be wrong keeping those doubts up after his Week 2 outing versus Arizona (8/86/0)? Definitely.

Regression must hit after an otherworldly debut facing a bad defense, but Brown’s second pro game wasn’t bad at all. In fact he finished with 16.6 PPR points and as a high-end WR2. Brown’s been targeted all around the field, receiving passes from left to right and in short-, mid-, and long-distances. His usage also increased dramatically from Week 1 to Week 2, going from 14 snaps to 51. He can align both wide (26 snaps) and in the slot (33 snaps). He has yet to drop a pass. His average Depth of Target (13.2 Yds) is in the 75th percentile, and his average Yards After Catch (9.8) is in the 97th. Oh, and Brown is also the recipient of 29.5% of the team targets. I guess that’s enough talk already.

Fantasy Impact: Baltimore faces Kansas City in what could be an epic showdown and the first truly booming game of the season. The O/U total points for the game sit at a week-high 52. Baltimore enters the contest as a five-point underdog. Knowing Patrick Mahomes and what the Chiefs are capable of on offense, the Ravens will need Lamar Jackson to keep it up and Marquise Brown profiles as his go-to guy. The scoreboard is definitely at risk of getting fat from early on and all game long. Kansas City gave up 273 yards (and 60.5 PPR points) to the Jaguars WRs in Week 1. I’m sorry, but there is no way Marquise doesn’t explode this weekend.
